SONS AND DAUGHTERS - in BARCELONA
Sons and Daughters are:
Adele Bethel: vocals, guitar, piano
David Gow: Drum and percussion
Allidh Lennon: Bass, mandolin, piano
Scott Paterson: vocals, guitar
the band was born almost 5 years ago, and comes from Glasgow.
For the last five years Sons And Daughters have worked towards fashioning a distinctive sound, image and story. For this last album, during the summer of 2006, Sons And Daughters holed up in a house in the village of Adfern on the west coast of Scotland. They had no television, no telephones, and worked on new songs in a converted barn for eight hours every day. “We wrote and practiced all day and played poker and got drunk at night. We were committed to writing a great pop record,” says Adele Bethel. “We all love Blondie and The Smiths and we wanted to embrace that and not repeat what we had done before. Then we thought: who would be the perfect producer for a record like this?”
Domino’s Laurence Bell suggested Bernard Butler, and all being huge Suede fans the band agreed.“I hadn’t heard them before,” admits Butler. “They played me their new songs and I thought that they had a lot of drama and passion, but that they needed channeling. And in a way I felt that the band’s strong image could hold them back, like they might be trying to fit into a genre they had created. Sons And Daughters are a cool bunch of people, but I didn’t really want them to be cool; I wanted them to face up to their demons and embrace all the things they loved Then once we got talking we realized we liked the same things, that we all liked Fleetwood Mac as much as The Smiths.”
Listening to their rithm you can't just stand, you need to move, the waves of the sound suddenly enters direct to your veins, and gets possession of you blood and all your body, making you moving and dancing around as a crazy cow.
unmissing, tomorrow they'll play in Razzmatazz, Barcelona, at 2:00am;
and tonight in Wien (love you Indie-mag).
And we'll be very lucky because they're going to play herein Spain again, at the Summercase Festival, 18-19 of July.
Tmorrow I'll be at the front row, see you there!
SONS AND DAUGHTERS, GILT COMPLEX
SONS AND DAUGHTERS, DARLING
"If this doesn’t get you dancing like Uma in Pulp Fiction and fishing out the slut red lippy, then call me Bella Bogroll and shit in my lap. Abrasive, dark and sexy like a lady assassin, Gilt Complex is quite possibly one of the most perfectly constructed singles of the year. It should happily bitchslap Kate Nash right off her foundations."

BLOOD RED SHOES-TUESDAY 13/05 IN BARCELONA
Today I've bought the ticket to go to Blood Red Shoes'concert.
This duo is composed by the contrast between the angelic looks and the sinister hellish noise produced by Laura-Mary Carter and Steven Ansell, with the right name for their particular disturbing kind of punk-rock: Blood Red Shoes.
Their debut album came out the past January 2007, produced by Mike Crossey (Artic Monkeys).
Devoted to violence, they like "things that look nice but really undernearth they are not". Their music sounds a bit violet as well. Laura-Mary is an artist, her favourite painter in Mark Rydon, because "he's an amazing modern painter and would make a painting of that girl 'Buffy' but in a childlike weird way in strange colours, and there would alwayas be something obscure or some dark elements going on.
Laura-Mary liked to walk around the streets of East London where she used to live for about 5 years down the night, because there are some bits of 'Jack the Ripper' (she's a massive fan of), "I liked going down those roads where I knew aomething had happened. I also wanted to work in the bar that Jack supposedly drank in: 'The Ten Bells'. And they kept it completely the way it was.
A part of destruction, concerning to love Steven has a strong aversion for 'fucking love songs. He gets bored of that, he thinks there are two types of songs about love:
"There are songs written out of the obvious feeling of love and there are songs that I call "a love song": Boy meets girl. Girl meets Boy, they fall in love and use phrases like 'Baby I love you' and all that sort of shit. That's been so overdone.
Here is the video of the single: 'It's getting boring by the Sea'
Enjoy the show
See you on Tuesday 13th of May in RazzMatazz.
I'll be there and you?

THE NEW ME
Hi sweet little rabbits,
Today I want to share a verrrry good news with all of you.
As you know I've started 'working' with VICE Spain the last October.
So as a practiser I was, I remained with them most of all for my CV. And things will work out, you know, because as everybody knows, who knows VICE, this magazine is recognised all over the world, Japan, USA, UK, Spain, Italy, Sweden, France, Germany, Montreal, Toronto, Australia, New Zeland, Scandinavia, Netherlands, Belgium and Austria. Is this a short list?? Mmmm, don't think so.
Well as a big surprise for me, myself and I, for my eyes, my brain and my legs and my heart, I'm the new Fashion Director now.
I'm so happy and honoured.
