DOV CHARNEY:

Photobucket

Amazing!

Today I'm going to talk about something interesting but always related to fashion world, this beautiful wonderful world that all of us love so much.
Today I would like to introduce you Dov Charney, the photographer and main owner of American Apparel. From the interview I read in PIG mag (the italian fashion, alternative magazine) he seems to be an excellent business man and a good boss.
His online store had in 2007 a turnover of over29 million dollas, and he said that all this is due to his hard work along these years.
He started selling american T-Shirt in Canada, when he was a teeager. He used to walk along the streets screaming: "American T-Shirts, 7 to 10 dollars'. Then things became to grow up, and everything gettin bigger and bigger till our days, and we know the situation.
He want to give a very good quality product to his public, this is why he doesn't want to produce in China or somewhere cheaper, just to have a hard control over everything.
He's always on the phone, organizing, planning, controling...
He never uses real models for his ads, because he likes spontaneity, and the real beauty.
He's planning opening new shops around the world, next plans are: Toronto, Santa Monica, Sweden, Rome ans Shangai. His actually motto is: 'Authenticity', and we can see it through the product of the label. AA doesn't just mean cool and colours but it also a life philosophy.
at the question: 'Do you ever censur your publicity?' he answered: 'No, well, the unique thing I really care about is that they must be nice, provocative, good looking and that they bring the company's message in the right way to who watches them.'
I would really like to work for American Apparel in USA, Why?, because he pays people to give massages to his employers! Isn't it sweet?
